Ginger Chew.

Head Coach

Biography:

This is Ginger Chew’s 13th year at EDS as the Director of Development (she left in 2017 after 10 years and returned in 2022), and she coached cross country and track and field for six years during her original tenure. She loves watching the pride in a young runner as they run farther and faster than they think they can and will set goals for personal growth and improvement for this cross-country season.

Originally from San Diego, CA, Ginger played a wide variety of sports growing up. However, running is the only sport she still does on a regular basis. She qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon in 2011, and runs the occasional half marathon to make sure she still can.

She and her husband, Baxley, were EDS parents for 18 years (three children, ages 23, 21, and 16), and outside of work she enjoys running, needlepoint, reading, UGA football and UNC basketball.

Kieron Heblich.

Co-Head Coach

Biography:

Please welcome to Panther Nation and EDS lower school Kieron Heblich.  You will notice that Coach Heblich isn’t from around these parts.   He is from across the ocean in a country called England.  He was born in Cyprus, but I grew up in Scarborough, England.  He attended high school and college in his native land however, he also attended college here in the United States at Meridian Community College in Mississippi.  He then went on for more education and attended Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and then finished graduate school at Christian Brothers University.  Yes, he is a footballer, as you can imagine, and we don’t mean American football it’s what we Yankees call soccer.  He has played soccer all his life.  He was an apprentice at the professional level at Scarborough Football Club and played semi-professional for Harrogate Town, Whitby Town, and Pickering Town (all in England). He played collegiate soccer at Meridian Community College and Northeastern State University. After playing soccer Coach Heblich turned to the coaching ranks. He has been a coach for over 25 years.  At that time, he settled into American life in Memphis, Tennessee.  Coach Heblich’s wife is an Augusta native.  Together they have 3 kids; Jack, Charlie, and Libby. His passion is soccer, and he is an avid Tottenham Hotspur & England supporter.  He is looking forward to helping students achieve goals in athletics as well as their physical education and being involved in a community that cares a lot about its school.
