Scott Klosinski

Head Coach

Boys Varsity Baseball

Although Scott Klosinski is in his second year as an EDS Coach, he brings a wealth of baseball knowledge, passion for the game, and extensive coaching experience to our school.  Scott began his coaching career at Richmond County Recreation Department in 1994.  Since then, he has coached well over 50 teams in Baseball, Basketball, Football and Soccer at the YMCA, Richmond County Recreation Department and the Columbia County Recreation Department, and Travel Baseball.  In 2007,  his 12 and under Travel baseball team won the Georgia State Championship.  That same year, he coached his son, Grey’s (EDS class of 2009), Columbia County All-star team which went undefeated and won both the Georgia Dixie Youth Ozone Championship and the  Dixie Youth Ozone World Series Championship.  He is very proud of the fact that when most children quit youth sports at 13, all twelve of the players on the 2007 team played varsity high  school baseball, and seven have continued their baseball careers in college.   In 2007, he was also named Columbia County’s Coach of the Year.   He retired from coaching in 2009 after Grey’s all-star season ended as state champion runner up.  He reentered the coaching world in 2014 coaching a 12 and under team at Richmond County Recreation.

Scott is married to Millie Klosinski, and they have raised three sons - John,  who lives and works in Jackson, Wyoming; Bowen, a second year law student at Mercer, and Grey, a junior at The Citadel.   Scott and his family attend Reid Memorial Church.  Scott is a double University of Georgia Graduate, having received a BBA in Finance in 1983 and his J.D. in 1986.

Scott believes in the multi-sport athlete, and recommends that every parent read “Let ‘em Play” by Dr. Jack Llewellyn, Ph. D. on a yearly basis.  His overall goal for each season is for the player to get better, learn the game a little more, and to love the game enough to play next year.
