Shelley Schmeer.
Assistant Coach
Biography:
Coach Schmeer has coached at EDS since the 24-25 Pickleball season. Born in Maine, I spent more than 30 years in Ohio raising my two sons before moving to Augusta. I am a retired software engineer, having worked 42 years in the field. I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I began shaping my lifelong love of learning and athletics.
Sports have been part of my journey since childhood. I grew up in 4-H, showing horses from age 13 through my first year of college. In high school, I was part of the very first girls’ tennis team during my junior and senior years, an experience that gave me a lasting appreciation for teamwork and competition.
I have been playing pickleball for the past seven years and truly enjoy the game both on and off the court. Along with coaching, I volunteer at pickleball tournaments, running scoring software, and helping events run smoothly—including a recent tournament in Orlando with nearly 600 players.
I am excited to share my passion for pickleball with the students at EDS.
