The EDS Varsity Boys Basketball team saved the best back to back defensive performances to bring home the Augusta-Aiken Middle School League championship. The Panthers had a tough draw having to go against the two teams that beat them this year in the regular season.
The final four opponents of Westminster was a complete shutdown of the Wildcats inside game and 3 point shooting. EDS lead most of the game and when Westminster would try to mount a run the Panthers answered right back.
In the championship game verse the number 1 seed St. Mary's of Augusta Saints, the Panthers again clamped down defensively and eliminated the Saints 3 point threat and didn't allow the Saints any offensive rebounds for second-chance points.
This is the Panthers 6th championship in boys basketball over 9 years.
