Dear Panther Nation,

On behalf of the EDS Athletic Booster Club, welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  

We believe that our athletic program is a valuable component of the EDS student experience, helping to reinforce valuable lessons from the classroom and the chapel.  EDS students strive for excellence academically and athletically, but they need your support, especially this year.  As with everything in 2020, we have to adapt to safety guidelines that impact the attendance at games and, as a result, our ability to generate revenue to support the EDS athletic program, 18 sports in total, open to all Middle School students.

Fall:  Boys & Girls Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Golf, Boys & Girls Tennis, Cheerleading, Clay Target Shooting Team

Winter: Boys & Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Swimming, Bowling

Spring:  Baseball, Boys & Girls Soccer, Track & Field

Game Attendance:

Athletic Directors from the schools within our sports leagues (AAMSL and GISA) have agreed to establish a number of safety protocols for both our student-athletes and our fans to, as much as possible, mitigate the risk of infection or exposure to COVID.   With this, we have had to make restrictions on attendance at games at both the Walton Way Campus and the Flowing Wells Campus.  The policies can be found below and these will be re-evaluated as the year and each athletic season progresses.

Walton Way Campus - Volleyball: Due to the size of our gym and the seating capacity in our bleachers, we have to limit the number of fans at our games.  We can only allow two (2) immediate family members per athlete for both Panther Nation and our opponents. At all indoor sporting events, masks will be required, as well as practicing social distancing.  Please refrain from gathering in common spaces.  Due to this limitation, during the fall season, admission to indoor sporting events will be free of charge. 

Flowing Wells Campus - Football and Cross Country: We are blessed to have an abundance of space in our outdoor stadium and as a result, we are able to host more fans. Since these teams are a bit larger though, we are requesting that only immediate family members per athlete attend.  All attendees will still need to practice social distancing when sitting in the stands; and, we encourage mask-wearing when not social distancing. There will be a gate/admission fee at these events.

Change in Admission and Concessions:

Admission: As stated above, the admission to fall season indoor games will be free of charge.  There will be admission fees for the fall season outdoor games.
 

Concession: Due to suggested guidelines, there will be no concessions at any sporting events.

The admission fees and concession sales support our athletic program and with the limitations stated above, we ask that you consider becoming a member of the EDS Booster Club at our temporarily reduced prices.  The Booster Club is open to all EDS families and community members and supports all of the School’s 18 athletic teams by providing additional financial support for the following:

• Supplementing the purchase of uniforms and equipment

• Supplementing fees for facility and venue rentals

• Team Transportation costs

• Paying officials 

• Facilitating half-time contests at home games

• Fostering school spirit
 

Typically, membership includes free family admission to all regular season football, volleyball, basketball, and soccer games.  This year (2020-21) we are offering a special: 

Membership Levels During 2020-21 COVID-19:

Panther Pride -$100  $50.00 - A great way for preschool or elementary school families to show their school spirit.  Available for families whose oldest student is in preschool and/or lower school.  Panther Pride membership includes free family admission to all regular season football and soccer games.  This level is also open for grandparents who are interested in joining the Booster Club.  

Panther Nation - $175  $100.00 per year - This includes free family admission to all regular-season home football, basketball (conditions permitting), and soccer games.  Panther Nation membership is available to all families.
